Wanstead Police Station
With its commanding position
overlooking the Church Green, Wanstead police station has been open for business
since 1886. The rooms above were at one time living quarters for several of the
married officers.
There had been much controversy over the decision to open the police station only between the hours of 10 and 6. Some feared that this would lead to its eventual closure. The Local paper however informs us that the Police Station at Wanstead will now be open from early morning until midnight with local police working from here.

There seems to be little information about the police station so anything that anyone might have would be gratefully received. Did you perhaps visit an open day there? Did they produce a centenary leaflet?
